Sunday School

Sunday School
to inspire your Spirit

As a Christian, I choose not to work on Sunday.  Although my blog is scheduled and I am not actually creating this post today; I still have a strong belief that we all need to take a break for the Sabbath Day.  Each week my Sunday post will change from inspiring your creativity, to inspiring your spirit.  I hope you enjoy the messages presented here each week.

I thought this was a fun video for those of you with children!

My Paper Pumpkin

All though this club doesn't officially start until March, you can sign up now to be sure you don't miss a month!  Here's the details straight from Stampin' Up!  If you have any questions, be sure to contact me.

Paper Pumpkin

Just think . . . I come to your door each month (a fully decked-out creativity carriage). I'll help you escape your life with some paper fun. (I'm kinda like your paper fairy godmother—without white hair!) You'll love what you find on the inside: All the stamps, ink, paper, and accessories to create pinable projects. Stuff like cards, 3-D items, and more!

Here's a sample of what you can make in minutes with one of the monthly kits.  Each kit will be different, sometimes cards, sometimes not....Either way, when you pick me, Karie Beglau, as your demonstrator you will begin to receive an email after each shipment with some other ideas for each kit.  I will have to wait for my kit to arrive, naturally, but you will get the email before the next one arrives!!  I've been having fun with this first kit and I can't wait to share those ideas with you!

Sweep away the mundane

- order your Paper Pumpkin today!

FAQs

Q: How can I learn more about stamping?
A: You can visit the Stampin' Up! website to learn more. Please click on the button that says, “Find a Demonstrator” and enter my name, Karie Beglau.  When you do I will put you on my email list to receive an email with some other ideas for each month's kit!
Q: When Will I Be Billed?
A: Your credit card will be charged as soon as your Paper Pumpkin ships. You will get an e-mail notifying you that your card has been charged.
Q: What comes in my Paper Pumpkin?
A: It's a surprise each month—anticipation for the surprise is seriously half the fun! No worries, though, you'll have everything you need to complete the project: paper, stamps, ink, accessories, and more! (You will need adhesive.)
Q: Is my subscription on auto renew?
A: Yes, your subscription is on auto renew. However, you can skip a month or cancel at any time. Simply log on to your account on www.mypaperpumpkin.com and click skip a month before the 10th of the month in order to skip the Paper Pumpkin for that month. If you click skip a month on the 11th of the month, you will receive that month's Paper Pumpkin and not receive the following month's Paper Pumpkin.
Q: When do I need to sign up in order to get my Paper Pumpkin for a specific month?
A: You need to sign up by the 10th of the month in order to receive your Paper Pumpkin for that month. If you sign up after the 10th―no worries! You will get your first kit the following month. You'll know your Paper Pumpkin is on its way when you receive your shipment confirmation e-mail.
Q:It asked me if I have a demonstrator—what is that?
A:A demonstrator is a super cool creativity coach that sells Stampin' Up! products. We'll give you the option to choose a demonstrator when you sign up for a membership. You're definitely going to want one. But you can still join without selecting a demonstrator.  (I'd sure like it to be me!  Karie Beglau).

Not sure you are ready for a subscription?
There's the "Try It" kit for you to see what the subscription packages are like.  This kit will not change every month (at least not for now)  What you can't see is that there are fun left over items you can use to embellish the inside of your book, or make other projects!

All The
Leadership Goodies

As promised, here are some better photos of all the goodies we received.

It started with a folder filled with information, a book for taking notes, the Oh, Hello stamp set, a list of stamps we can pick from on our next order, and our Prize Patrol wrist band.

Then I got a kit to create a folder for keeping notes from my Business Development Adviser (a perk for Senior Managers & above).  Plus, the BDA's are having a contest.  After I finish my folder and submit a photo I might just win more FREE stuff!!  I will post my finished project soon!

Then there is this lovely pile of goodies!  Glimmer Paper (in silver of course for the 25th anniversary), Tea Time Trinkets, Builder Brads, Just Thinking stamp, Parker's Patterns DSP, Buttons-Silver Basic, Builder Brads, and of course a Sneak Preview Stamp Set called - Sketched Birthdays!  I can't show that one to you yet...but it's peeking from behind the Oh, Hello set.  I will be making samples and blogging from Sketched Birthdays Soon.

Until Next Time,
                      Hugs, Karie

Leadership Swap #2

"Bee" a dreamer

This swap could be used for a variety of occasions just by changing the sentiment.  I admit that when I made  this one I was thinking of some of my friends who sell Longerberger baskets and go to a "Bee" every year, yet to not be so literal I didn't make it yellow...this time.  But you can imagine how changing the color and sentiment will give you a new look.

I used Island Indigo, Pool Party, and Whisper White card stock.  The background is our awesome new Textured Embossing Folder - Honeycome (whatelse?!) and the new oooohh so cool new Sizzlits S Die - Pinwheel (of course!). The pinwheel was cut from Designer Series Paper 2011-13 In-color Pack.  The stamp sets are Collage Curios (bee) and Loving Thoughts (sentiment).  I also used Bakers twine and the Word Window & Modern Label punches.

Check out the gift I made my upline on Wednesday!

Until then . . .

Leadership Swap #1

Monocromatic

I'm sure by now you know that demonstrators love to share to ideas.  When we attend corporate events, local events, and team events, we like to trade card ideas.  We call them SWAPS.  Normally I only make one style...just a lot of them.  But this time I made three.  You've already seen my silly Doctor Who card, now here's a little more sweet and subtle card for you.

This card using Whisteria Wonder & Whisper White card stock along with a piece of Designer Series Paper 2011-13 In-color pack for  spring-like monocromatic effect (this terms donates its one color...or almost in this case).  The sentiment comes from the From My Heart stamp set, 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon, and the ink is Elegant Eggplant.  I also used these items for the Big Shot: Framelits Label and the Lace Brocade & Perfect Polka Dots Textured Embossing Folders

I admit it...this one is my favorite of the three cards I made.  Come back on Monday to see my third project. I will also soon share the gift I made for my uplines, friends, and some of the awesome swaps I have received back.

Stay Tuned!

Making a Difference

I've added several photos. ..but as blogging via my phone is pretty new to me.   LOL
Here's what's happening in them...

Stampin' Up! Brought a ton of products for donating to local Florida teachers.  We had the opportunity to fill some bags and add a personal note for the individual teachers who would receive a bag of goodies.

One photo shows me with my friend Sue...there is one of me packing a bag...a peek into a filled bag...the SU Crew moving the filled bags...the room full of stuff to stuff!!

Watch for more photos coming of our trip to Harry Potter this evening!!!

Doctor Who

T.A.R.D.I.S!

I guess I should explain that shouldn't I?  Well, I am a BIG Doctor Who fan (on the BBC & BBCAmerica channels) and if you are too, you can skip this paragraph.  A T.A.R.D.I.S.  is what the Doctor call his space ship.  It stans for Time And Relative Dimension In Space.  It used to change it's look to fit the area where it landed, however, the camelion circut was damaged and now it always looks like a blue police box.  There, you are all caught up...right?

When I first saw the "Feeling Sentimental" stamp in the Sale-a-bration brochure the first thing that jumped out was the phone booth...in fact I believe I shouted out loud at the Lansing, MI, Regional event LOL.  I just new I create the title shot of the Doctor Who show with it

Here's what my hands looked like after creating all the backgrounds . . . nice huh?

And here is the finished card...cheesy?  You Bet Ya!  But sometimes you just gotta have fun.  Besides if it flops I will hop in the Doctor's TARDIS, travel back in time, and undo this post!!

Here's how I did it:
The sentiment was printed onto Whisper White card stock with my printer.  I didn't have stamp that was 'who-related' LOL.

The cute little hearts are from the new Heats A Flutter stamp set.  They are embossed.

Using a Window Sheet cut to size I slathered (is that a word?) on a layer of Crystal Effects making sure to spread out to the edges.  Then I placed a few drops of ink from a Pretty In Pink re-inker with a just a drop of Bashful Blue re-inker on the edges.  Mixing them into the Crystal Effects with a gloved finger I created the colorful swirl.  (OK...I made a lot of them and eventually just gave up on the gloves...hense that first lovely photo of my hands).  After I got the swirl right I gently sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  Then I crumpled, and uncrumpled a piece of white tissue paper (the kind you put inside a gift bag) and added it to the top.  I was sure to press in the edges so it stuck to all of the Windo Sheet.  After it dried I cut off excess tissue and applied it to my card front.

OH...Perhaps I should explain,  a Companion is what Doctor Who calls the humans who travel with him in the TARDIS.  That would make this great a Valentine's Day card for your favortie "Whovian"

This month's class is a Stack Attack!
